Embrace




The pastel sky,

And the clouds that slowly disappear

toward the horizon




A bear hug:

Two humans,

Like a rose

opening

in reverse.




(exhale.)




A hug:

two rivers, Blue and White, merging as the Nile,

snow falling on a Himalayan mountaintop

softly,

under the crest of a wave,

the warm home of an elephant.




Red streaks of lighting

from a lightless night deep in the Sonoran desert;

The tortoise, finding his way over the rocks;

The shingleback lizard, way in the Australian Outback,

receiving the sun’s embrace
